SPM 2015 - A past to be remembered, a journey never forgotten.

Me after last paper haha !

Assalamualaikum and good evening, everyone !
It is 2330hrs and I am still awake. heehee, been watching some old Malay movies to release some stress. ( I am not that stressed but hahaha just for fun )
Biology and English CAL Test this week makes me gdhsdgjksdh ><

well, tonight I'm going to talk about last year's SPM. Alhamdulillah, all praise to the Almighty Allah, I managed to achieve 9A+ in my exams and I am now a bursary scholar under JPA.

um, I know it is already September and it is kind of too late to share some tips. But I'm going to share anyway because if it gives a good impact to my juniors then it is okay lol //what am I talking about?

First, I sat my SPM in Sekolah Menengah Sains Muar or also known as SAMURA, a fully residential school. In two years, there is a lot of memories, tears, laughter with everyone, friends, seniors, juniors, teachers and staffs.

I want to share some of the little things that might be overlooked by students out there. I am not perfect but I think I want to share a thing or two about it lol.

I am actually a very lazy person, I didn't really do homeworks and I slept and ate all the time in class. Teachers actually knew me too well and my chemistry teacher who is also my class teacher once said, "I'm going to cut off my fingers if Ellia do her homeworks!"

I'm a very bad student, huhu I'm so sorry teachers ><"
I think it is better if I write this in point form so it is easier to be read lol.

WHAT I DID AND TIPS I CAME UP FROM MY EXPERIENCE :
  • If you feel sleepy, go for a walk, move, drink water
  • Look at the eye of your teacher when he/she is talking so that he/she know that you are paying attention, and he/she will look at you thus you will feel like he/she is talking to you only, so you will understand better, if God wills.
  • Come early to class/workshops, sit in front, so you can focus better.
  • Obey school rules (I know this is like so hard to be done, but I am a nerd, I was a prefect and I really obey school rules haha except doing homeworks)
  • Participate in extracurricular activities but not too much okayyy?
  • Find your own strength and weakness, do not copy what people do.
If someone stay up late to study, you might be someone who doesn't suit that style so yeah, do it your style.
  • Ask if you do not understand.
  • Find a friend(s) who can teach you or you can study together.
  • Spend time to read the Quran at least once a day, a page a day. esp. Surah al-Waqiah and etc
  • If you are smart, please do not be too 'lokek' and just help your friends. From my experience, I really help my friends (until sometimes I don't even have enough time to study on my own) but it's okay, God will help you back. At my school, I was a facilitator for Additional Mathematics and Physics and during programmes, I have to talk for about 5 hours non-stop to help everyone else but I guess it was worth it, so yeah, do not be too arrogant, ehehe.
  • After exams, just calm down and surrender yourself to God. You have done your best and God will give the best result to you.
  • And I am the type who did not really pay attention to any gossips and stuff so yeah, just stay low, and kill everyone with your success hehehe.
  • Work together. In my class, our Physics for trial exams was bad and I was the class rep for Physics. We came up with the idea of holding tuition class for Physics. Everyone is assigned a sub-topic and each person had to teach everyone the sub-topic. The programme kinda worked because our class got #1 for SPM Physics (I think hehe, but yeah my class is #1 throughout our whole journey in SAMURA, I am proud of my classmates, I love them very much for the support and hard work //cries). but overall, it is better to work together.
  • the sessions on the day before exams are crucial too, if you can't study on your own, you must pay attention during classes
  • do not rely on any SKOP (idk what is it in english lmao) because we don't know what might come out right >< so yeah pls don't take the risk.
  • tips for each subject
    1. BM - latihan, cara menjawab (kertas 2 ;; novel)
    2. ENGLISH - basic grammar, no need for bombastic words for essay but simple and no grammatical mistakes would do, master the cara menjawab for paper 2 ;; novel )
    3. MATHS - practice!
    4. P. ISLAM - hafal, cara menjawab
    5. SEJARAH - hafal, cara menjawab, kbat tu tulis je apa yang kita terfikir pastu sesuai, jangan takut utk tulis sbb pemeriksa akan cari markah kita, kan?
    6. CHEMISTRY - faham, hafal, practice
    7. ADDMATHS - faham, practice, application (kbat)
    8. BIOLOGY - faham, hafal, application, cara menjawab (keyword)
    9. PHYSICS - hafal, faham, application, practice

(I am not sure whether there are some changes on the formats but this is what I did last year. I don't really hafal everything but yeah, just read, read, read like that lol)

I also write on a paper that I want A+ for every subject and one big 9A+ on another paper and I stick it at my bed. so when I read it always, it became a prayer. so you can try it too hehehe.

Hmm actually in my school I'm not popular and people don't really know me. I only held a position as a prefect and a bureau vice president and that was it. I didn't have much commitment so I think that was why I can focus better. Being the school's high achiever, I am quite proud because yknow people don't know me but suddenly poof! everyone knows me lmao jk

Another important thing is that, the blessings from your parents.
You guys are all nothing without your parents. Always call your parents (if you are in boarding school) and if not, please, just abandon your phones or gadgets and talk to them everyday even if you are busy or tired, bcs they need your love too.
My parents rarely visited me in school and I actually felt sad about it. But, it costs a lot to come over to Muar from KL so I just shook the feeling off my mind because I don't want to trouble them.
So, if your parents always visit you, please appreciate them and not play with your phones when they visit you. They want to see you and talk to you, not seeing you play with your phone.

For my trial, I only managed to achieve 3A+, 3A, 2A- and 1B+.
So for my adik-adik out there, especially my Pujangga 7 juniors that I am missing like crazy,
it is never too late to continue your efforts!! Doa banyak2, solat hajat banyak2, buat je latihan selagi mana yang mampu! You all can do it! All the best to all SPM 2016 candidates especially from SAMURA Batch 33! SAMURA BANGKIT! You all must do better than us!
My dormmates Pujangga 7 on the first day of SPM <3

Thank you for reading till the end (phew it is a long post)
And sorry if I hurt anyone's feelings hehe..

BYE AND GOODNIGHT <3

Hometown's Favourite ; Laksa Johor

Hello everyone!

Wow, I have been abandoning this blog for 4 months! Sorry, I have been very busy ///and lazy.

So today I'm going to share about my favourite dish from my hometown, LAKSA JOHOR!
Okay, I am born in Selangor but my father is a Johorean so yes, Laksa Johor becomes my most favourite dish ever because of it's unique and distinct taste that makes you feel special.
Uh, well, in my opinion of course.

Laksa Johor is a curry flavoured fish soup with spaghetti, garnished with cucumber, bean sprouts, various herbs and sambal belacan to give it a kick. The origin of this dish brings us back to when Sultan Abu Bakar visited Italy and tasted spaghetti bolognese. When he returned, he asked his chef to modify the recipe of local laksa soup and make a fusion of the Malay dish with the Italian dish. Since then, Laksa Johor became so popular and is no longer a palace food but is savoured by all the people of Johor.

Next, I'm going to share a video about the recipe of Laksa Johor.

How to cook Johor Laksa (Faizah Aziz-Wells)

View a full recipe of Laksa Johor here by Chef Wan, a very famous Malaysian chef who promotes various Malaysian traditional and exquisite recipes to all over the world. To be very honest, his recipe is the most similar to my mother's.

My mother always prepare this dish when we break our fast in Ramadhan, during Hari Raya open house and also sometimes during the weekend when all of my siblings are home. This is because Laksa Johor requires more ingredients and the procedures are more complicated than the normal Laksa Utara which she cooks almost twice a month. Thus, we feel like Laksa Johor is a special dish that is only prepared during special occasions.

In general, Laksa Johor is widely known and loved by Malaysians especially Johoreans. But it is quite hard to find a diner that serve Laksa Johor the way our own mothers prepare it. In conclusion, Laksa Johor is a very special dish to all the people that love it by heart.

Seriously, my mother is a Kedahan but our family really enjoy this dish very much so my mother learned the recipe from my paternal grandmother from Kota Tinggi, Johor. I scrolled through my phone's gallery and found a photo of Laksa Johor my mother prepared during Ramadhan. So here it is! (     I feel so hungry right now :'(     )

Till then, goodbye! Thanks for reading :) Have a nice day.

i am so bad at giving titles sigh

assalamualaikum and a very good evening!
uhh I haven't update for more than a week I should have punished myself for being so lazy ><"

well, last Wednesday, I went to repeat my on the road test to obtain my driving license.
Alhamdulillah, it went well! I got a very kind-hearted and friendly JPJ tester. May Allah bless him :^)

My license will probably be done by tomorrow morning, YAYY!

Well, last Tuesday, it had been announced by JPA that only 250 students will be sponsored under the Bursary Programme and we have to apply for the bursary. But on Saturday, tabloids and newspapers reported that all 9A+ and above students will be sponsored. I was in cloud nine upon knowing the news. Alhamdulillah.

And also, not to forget that I failed to proceed to stage 3 of the Yayasan Khazanah assessment. I thank YK for the opportunity to proceed to stage 1 and 2 though! It was such a great experience calculating profits of companies and do reasoning XDD Maybe my personality isn't that good haha idk.. well rezeki takde so I just redha ;)

and this past week has been hectic too because INFINITE NAMUYON and SUJU YEYE will debut as an solo artist GOSH I CAN BE MORE EXCITED !!! looking forward to their albums! cahnyeol might be featuring in yesung's album sobs :'D

and also SM debuted a new boy group called NCT U which is a sub unit of NCT (Neo Culture Technology). well the concept is super complicated and idk being an SMstan I automatically stan them HAHAHA. its too hard to pick a bias i might as well stan the group without a bias. and Heechul helped a lot in NCT ON AIR SHOW hahaha thanks SM for the ENG SUB. thanks for realizing us intl fans really live off  ENG SUBS !

and to all my friends who will have togo through UKCG or other interiew sessions, all the best and break your leg! you all can do it, fighting!

I am still waiting for JPA to update the maklumat for the bursary programme. pls dont tell me that we still have to apply. I regret that I didn't apply for many scholarships even though I qualify for most of them but idk, most scholarships didn't offer the course I wanted. ><" I like biology too much I don't wanna break up with him yet (I guess?)

till, then, goodbye !

Tuesday, March 29

hi! again?

well hello everyone.
this is like my third blog. cries. Idek what I did with the last two.
but anyways, I spent like 5 hours on blogger and tumblr and I can't decide which one I want to use daily (or not bcs yknow I havent got over my laziness disease ugh)
I am not pro at using both tumblr and blogger so I think the easier one is blogger. I want to keep it simple until I get the skills to decorate my blog into fancier templates uhhhh. maybe this is one is alright already. considering my lazy disease.

I have 2 tumblr blogs (that means I have like 5 blogs!!!? I won't delete my blogs bcs idk they are like my old diaries :^D )

as you can see, I am a kpop fan so I have multiple accs on every social media.
twitter instagram tumblr blogger haaahaahaaa whatever. as long as I don't have to pay it's still ok xD

so I will publish updates here on anything includes my life and kpop life, basically everything ok? so I hope I will be rajin and publish updates a least once or twice a week. I think it won't be impossible bcs I talk a lot!!

well, this morning I woke up to 2 missed calls from Q. yesterday, I took the stage 1 online assessment from Yayasan Khazanah but actually I misread the set 2 of the assessment. I only did set 1!!! well ell is actually dumb. Q called me to tell me she did the test. but then I figured out that I havent done the second set! I don't have any other options so I just did the set 2 assessment with a shitty wifi. Idk my wifi is so slow I actually did quite bad because of the time limit for each section. sobs, let's just leave everything to Allah. He knows best :^)

btw since January I have been spazzing about Infinite so bad, I can listen to their songs all day and get emo all the time. heLP MEEEEE!!!

hahaha till the, goodnight everyone :))))
